Our Minor Adaptations work benefits people with disabilities of any age.

The scheme can help people to be discharged safely from hospital, and also helps in preventing hospital admissions by minimising the risk of falls and injury in the home.

To obtain grant assistance, referrals must come from an occupational therapist, health or social services professional, or from a Care & Repair Caseworker.

If you are referred for help you will not be charged. Eligibility for the programme may alter during the course of the year depending upon resources available and current waiting lists, so that clients who are most in need of our help and assistance are helped first.

Our Minor Adaptations programme is funded by the Welsh Government, Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board.

Examples of work that can be funded by a grant:

  • Hand rails/Grab rails
  • Temporary or permanent ramps
  • Access to toilet facilities
  • Provision of stair rails
  • Steps and half steps
  • Levelling concrete paths
  • Improve lighting interior/exterior
  • Fitting carpet strips
  • Relaying paving stones
